RESIDENCY AT FESTIVAL D’AIX-EN-PROVENCE

Omar Shahryar and librettist Claire Tipy have been selected to participate in the Opera libretto residency with the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence to develop their new opera, “HOME”, under the supervision of David Levin (dramaturg, professor at the University of Chicago) and Piersandra Di Matteo (dramaturg, performing arts theorist).

Omar collaborated with players from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and theatre practitioners from Unique Community to deliver co-creation workshops with refugees in Brent, West London.
