Created by English Touring Opera to tour the UK in Spring 2024, including venues such as London’s Royal Opera House, the Lighthouse Poole and the Marlow Theatre.
English Touring Opera presents The Great Stink, a hilarious, fun-filled family show set in Victorian London about poo… lots of it!
The second opera in ETO’s series based on climate change, this educational opera for 7-11-year-olds asks questions about water pollution and draw parallels with the way humans dispose of sewage today.
Brought to life with singers, musicians, puppets, and interactive moments children will get to meet Queen Victoria, Lord Chancellor Benjamin Disraeli, and even the Thames herself.
“I always think that an ETO visit is such an important part of our wider curriculum offer to our children, as it is definitely an art form which very few children come into contact with. Having the chance to learn some songs and to actually join in is very exciting, and I think that the style of songs is varied and challenging (not your usual type of song children may sing in school). This particular opera was very accessible to all of the children. They picked up on the humour and characterisation and were engaged throughout.”
